Jobs
Gallery Interpreter – Weekend Part Time
Overview
Join us to work with families and aircraft at the Hiller Aviation Museum!
Gallery Interpreters staff interactive exhibits at the Hiller Aviation Museum, including the hands-on Invention Lab, Drone Plex flight center, Flight Sim Zone simulation lab, and FMX full motion simulator. Responsibilities include daily set-up and securing of lab spaces, preparation of hands-on activities, and working directly with the public to lead interactive activities in aviation-themed topics.
Gallery Interpreters must be available to work at least one weekend day each week, Saturday and/or Sunday. Shifts typically last between 4 to 6 hours long. Occasional weekday shifts may also be available but weekday availability is not required. Gallery Interpreter positions pay $17.50-$19.50/hr based on experience.
Requirements
Gallery Interpreters must have experience working with elementary or middle-school children. Previous museum experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with science and/or aviation is a plus but not essential—candidates comfortable with elementary-aged students can readily learn the aerospace-specific content.
Applicants must be high school graduates and 18 years or older. Exception may be considered for current high school seniors with prior Hiller teen volunteer experience in good standing.
How to Apply
To apply, submit a resume and cover letter in PDF format to Linh Fanger, Vice President of Education, at education@hillerstage.bglobal.com. Include “Gallery Interpreter” in the subject line.
